What does replacement planting cost?
We charge $100 to $300 per tree for planting.
Lutz’s dominant soil is Adamsville (FS), which is somewhat poorly drained. We consider drainage when planning a planting location. If you want to replace a removed tree, discuss the location with us rather than assuming the old spot is the right place.
How we handle cutting and crew coordination
We train chainsaw operators in notching, hinge wood, and back-cut techniques. During removal, we coordinate overhead and ground crews so their work stays controlled. These are part of the removal process, separate from any replacement planting you request.
Include stump work in your request
We use a stump grinder for stump work. If you want the tree removed and the stump addressed, name both tasks when requesting your quote. The planting range above does not provide a price for either removal or stump grinding.

Some of what that looks like in the field:
- Before felling, consider the tree’s lean, crown weight, wind, and obstacles, and clear an escape path away from the fall line.
- Train chainsaw operators in notching, hinge wood, and back-cut techniques; maintain firm footing and a two-handed grip while cutting.

Straight Answers to Common Questions
Do I need a permit to cut down a tree on my property?
Permit rules vary by city and tree species or size. Many municipalities require permits for trees above a certain diameter or protected species. Check local ordinances before work begins to avoid fines; the tree service can often advise on requirements.
What is the best month to trim a tree?
Pruning costs range from $75 to $1,500. Late dormant season, just before spring growth, is often ideal because wounds close quickly and pests are inactive. Avoid trimming during leaf-out or fall color change when the tree is stressed.
What is the 5-15-90 rule for tree felling?
The rule is a safety guideline: maintain a 5-foot exclusion zone around the sawyer, keep bystanders at least 15 feet away from the tree, and clear a 90-degree escape path opposite the planned fall direction. Proper planning reduces struck-by injuries.
